Comic Strip Museum, 16000 Angoulême
As part of the Creative Europe program, the City launched the EU Webtoons competition. 10 Webtoon authors were thus identified and are presented in this exhibition.
La Cité launched this competition in partnership with the Warsaw and Lucca comic festivals and the CUNE Comics project of the Finnish Comics Society which brings together the countries of Northern Europe. This competition aims to identify and promote new Webtoon talents across the European continent.
Inspired by Webtoon art and photo booth nostalgia, the exhibition also opens a window into the history of Korean manhwa and offers a unique selection of non-Korean Webtoons, originating from France, Africa and other countries , propelling comics to new horizons.
